The most nutritious treats, bar none.

This month we had the opportunity to photograph (and taste test!) all of the delicious products from good phyte foods, a woman-owned small business. They make grain-free, vegan, no-added-sugar snacks crafted from organic and local ingredients. We worked with the owner and her wonderful team to understand their marketing goals and determine what imagery would benefit them most. We like to make things easy for our clients, so we picked up all the products from good phyte foods’ kitchen and retail shop and then went to work in the studio.

The Process

In order to showcase the products on the client’s website, we captured images of the outer packaging, close-up details, graphic compositions using spoons, scenes featuring specific ingredients, plus some shots of products in-hand (or in-pocket). Because good phyte makes a range of products from granola to powerballs, we needed to find ways to make each type of snack shine, with a focus on the colors, textures and quality ingredients. Once we had a lighting set-up we liked, we shared test images with the client to refine the style before capturing all the product images.

With studio lighting we had the freedom to create the exact look good phyte foods wanted, and we collaborated to deliver work that would exceeded their expectations. But don’t just take our word for it.

“Our experience working with Jeff and Erin was fantastic -- they were flexible with our budget for product photos and delivered much more than we expected! They brought our snacks to life for our website and helped bring a consistency to our brand across all our product categories. We are grateful for their time and talent!”

Product Feature: Crackers

How do you photograph nine different kinds of crackers? You work with the natural and healthy vegetables, seeds, and herbs they’re made of. To do just that Jeff decided to create stacks of each flavor of cracker with simple but interesting lighting to give these flat objects more visual interest. To show off ingredients such as kale, pumpkin seeds, and beets, he opted for macro shots with low side lighting to add contrast.

We hope you’ll reach out if you feel your products and e-commerce could benefit from interesting, consistent, and engaging imagery.
